A lot has happened in 2016; there were more police-related shootings, terrorist attacks and attempted robberies; liberals continued to push gun control; news of gun violence was twisted by the media; and Second Amendment advocates were given hope when Donald Trump was elected president.

Back in September, Tulsa, Oklahoma, police officer Betty Shelby shot and killed Terence Crutcher. Various media outlets reported that Crutcher was shot while standing in the middle of the road with his hands up. However, video footage from a police helicopter tells a different story.

In early November, an armed man trying robbing a Pizza Hut was shot and killed by one of restaurant’s employees. The man’s parents argued that the employee shouldn’t have been allowed to carry and called their son’s death “undeserved and unjustified.”

USPSA Shooter, 3-Gunner, and NRA-certified firearms instructor Jason Falconer effectively stopped a terrorist attack on a Minnesota mall in September. Falconer shot and killed a 22-year-old Somali immigrant who was stabbing shoppers after asking if they were Muslim.

Many don’t understand why cops feel threatened when a non-compliant suspect tries returning to their car. Well, here’s a reminder. On Monday, January 12, 1998, Deputy Kyle Dinkheller was shot and killed during a traffic stop after arguing with the man he pulled over.

After the Orlando Shootings, the media was quick to point fingers at the AR-15 – only the shooter didn’t use an AR-15. Omar Mateen used a Sig Sauer MCX carbine – “a modular, multi-caliber (able to swap to different calibers, including 5.56 NATO, 300 BLK, and 7.62×39) rifle system that sometimes utilizes STANAG magazines common to more than 60 different firearms, but otherwise has no major parts that interface with AR-15s in any way, shape or form.”

Back in January, a man attempted to rob a check-cashing store in Texas. However, an employee triggered the alarm. When police got there, the robber had taken a hostage. One of the officers then grabbed his patrol rifle and fired at the suspect. Needless to say, the robber didn’t get away.

Katie Couric and her director Stephanie Soechtig are facing a $12 million defamation lawsuit for a scene in their anti-gun documentary, Under the Gun. The scene was edited to look like a gun rights group in Virginia was unable to answer a question on background checks. However, an unedited recording of the interview revealed that the gun rights group answered Couric’s questions without a problem.
