Candidate Confuses Constitutional Rights in Gun Control Push

Boy, I didn’t even know Steve Harvey had a show until a few weeks ago, but he’s really got an awesome platform for showing off just how ignorant liberals and gun grabbers really are.

As the Democratic candidates continue to run their campaigns toward the White House with the promise of gun control while boldly exploiting the families of minority youths who died in high-profile cases that divided the nation, one candidate is emerging as the quintessential village idiot not only on common sense gun laws, but the Constitution itself.

…or is it the Declaration of Independence?

Hillary Clinton doesn’t know the difference.

In yet another stump for more gun laws, the former First Lady and current candidate for President of the United States cited a “constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” during an interview with Steve Harvey.

“We’ve got to say to the gun lobby, you know what, there is a constitutional right for people to own guns, but there’s also a constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that enables us to have a safe country where we are able to protect our children and others from this senseless gun violence,” she said.

To which Harvey gives her a somber response of, “Absolutely.”

Maybe he doesn’t know the difference either, but the right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” actually comes from the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution of the United States.

Maybe it’s just me, but I believe that if someone is going to ask to be on the ballot for the Presidency, they should know what is and is not in the Constitution of the United States. Especially when that person is looking to gut the Second Amendment.

Please tell me I’m not alone in that belief, am I?
