Investigators said the burglary was reported around 2AM on April 8 after burglars forced their way inside and stole numerous firearms from the business before fleeing, according to ATF New Orleans.

Now, the ATF and NSSF are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the burglars of Tickfaw Guns. The reward is in addition to the $1,000 already offered by Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa.

I hope people see how much character the NSSF is showing here. By ponying up cash to help the ATF catch gun thieves and recover stolen weapons, the National Shooting Sports Foundation is proving once again they put their priorities over profit.

The official news release reads:

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) New Orleans Field Division is offering a reward, along with the National Sports Shooting Foundation (NSSF), for a total reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary and theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee (FFL).  The FFL, Tickfaw Auction Company, a/k/a “Tickfaw Guns,” is located at 49035 U.S.-51, Tickfaw, LA.  This reward is in addition to the previous reward announced by Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa of up to $1,000.

This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF, the trade association for the firearms industry, and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.  ATF works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.

On April 8, 2016, at approximately 2 A.M., unknown individuals forced entry into and burglarized the gun store and stole numerous firearms from the business.  The suspect(s) fled in an unknown direction with the stolen firearms.
