Ever catch one of those TED Talks? My son and I watched one about how you are supposed to talk yourself up before a big meeting or a job interview. It was interesting, but it wasn’t anything groundbreaking.
Well now TED is tackling guns… with gun control lies, of course.
Cue the rhetoric:
TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world’s leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes (or less). Look for talks on Technology, Entertainment and Design — plus science, business, global issues, the arts and much more.
It doesn’t matter whether you love or hate guns; it’s obvious that the US would be a safer place if there weren’t thousands of them sold every day without background checks. Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, makes a passionate, personal appeal for something that more than 90 percent of Americans want: background checks for all gun sales. “For every great movement around the world, there’s a moment where you can look back and say, ‘That’s when things really started to change,'” Gross says. “For the movement to end gun violence in America, that moment is here.”
Thousands of guns are sold every day without background checks? Really? I don’t suppose Gross has any facts to back that up. (because the truth is, there aren’t any) I’m sure plenty of criminals are selling illegal weapons for cash, but they don’t really follow existing laws, am I right? Saying more gun laws would make them obey laws at all isn’t reality. It’s hilariously ignorant.
You know what else made me laugh? “90% of Americans want background checks for all gun sales”
… WISH GRANTED! Background checks are run on every legal gun sale.
So the real epidemic America is currently facing is that current gun laws are ignored, zombie gun control lies refuse to die and this administration’s idea of addressing criminal justice reform is hanging out with music artists at the White House.
Now that is a tragedy.
The good news is, this YouTube video has open comments.
Now… cue the reality check.
