Alan Colmes vs: Liberty Counsel’s Anita Staver on the alleged danger posed by transgendered bathrooms.
In the wake of the controversy Target’s inclusion policy ignited, many customers have declared their boycott of the retail chain while others have said they’ll bring their own protection to the ladies room, including Liberty Counsel President Anita Staver.

Someone called Staver on her comment, saying that she is simply overreacting. “When has a trans person ever attacked someone in the bathroom??” the person asked.
But Staver clarified she is “not afraid of them. I want protection from the perverts who will use the law to gain access to women.”
The negative comments kept on coming even after that. “Lawyers aren’t supposed to go around threatening to kill people,” someone wrote.
Staver answered back, “Don’t be crazy—bodyguards and guns are for protection, not aggression.”
Another person commented that Staver has “problem with paranoia” and suggested that she go visit a therapist, while others believe she is a “bigoted idiot” who has simply “gone nuts.”
“You need psychological help, lady. No really. You’re [expletive] crazy. And from your statement, a potential murderer,” one commenter said.
Staver joined Alan Colmes to clarify her position, saying “The advertising of this is the problem with what Target has done, it’s caused predators to know that women are easy prey in these places. It doesn’t matter if it’s 100 women or 1000 women, I just needed to tell people they need to be prepared, and to make sure they do boycott Target because it’s a dangerous place.”
“Look, Target was the one that actually put a bullseye on women, by highly publicizing this policy and that’s caused predators to go around in these different states in this country and target women and I think women need to be prepared.”
Staver cited an incident in Washington in which a man calling himself “Colleen” entered the changing room of a swimming pool twice and began disrobing, once in front of a young girls’ swim team, saying transgender policies gave him the right to do so.
When asked what he was doing, he said, “The law has changed and I have a right to be here.”
Staver’s comments and calls for women to carry are aimed at perverts and deviants like “Colleen”, not the transgender population as the media would have everyone believe.
