In response to the Berrien County courthouse shooting in Michigan in which an inmate grabbed a deputy’s gun outside a holding cell and was able to shoot five people, killing two
We all need to reach out and be supportive of law enforcement in our state and across the country.

In a statement, Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert P. Young, Jr. said: “This tragic incident is another sad reminder that courthouse employees put their lives at risk every day to serve the people of Michigan. As we await further details and the results of the ongoing State Police investigation, we stand ready to implement steps to further strengthen courthouse security to better protect both employees and the public.”
…and Shannon Watts tweeted:
THIS is outcome of @NRA's dangerous agenda of guns for anyone, anywhere, anytime: no questions asked. Berrien County https://t.co/kmRrQioEO4

Wait, she said what?!
Yup, that’s right. In response to the death of two court officers at the hand of an un-cuffed inmate, Mrs. Moms Demand responds by saying guns shouldn’t be allowed in courthouses… in which guns are not allowed …and then claimed that the shooting was a caused by the NRA’s agenda of “guns for anyone, anywhere, anytime: no questions asked.”
Apparently compassion and common sense aren’t her strong suits. The NRA never has nor ever would advocate for inmates to be armed in a courthouse and their agenda has never been “guns for everyone, no questions asked”.
Oh, but once she figured out that her comment was ignorant and insensitive, I’m sure she retracted her message, right?
Wrong.
UPDATE: Some Michigan outlets reporting gun taken from deputy. https://t.co/eWQhDUZ0B3

Oh Shannon… if only you could use your powers for good instead of evil.
