And The Award for Choice Political Propagandist of America's Youth Goes to...

Oh look, honey! They’re trying to indoctrinate the kids again!

On the 2016 Teen Choice Awards, which aired on FOX Sunday night, the powers that be decided this was a prime opportunity to shuffle a little propaganda toward our collective pubescent psyche.

Hosted by John Cena and Victoria Justice and sandwiched between such illustrious honors as Kendall Jenner winning Choice Female Hottie and Ariana Grande accepting the award for Choice Selfie Taker, the fan-decided awards paused to highlight a hashtag.

#StopTheViolence

Jessica Alba and Ne-Yo introduced the audience to the ‘victims of gun violence’ surrounding them on stage, grossly failing to acknowledge the group included family members of those who lost their lives to an act of domestic terrorism in San Bernardino as well as the teenage son of Alton Sterling, a convicted felon in possession of a handgun actively resisting arrest.

The self-righteous duo demanded children watching examine themselves, saying, “If you feel, as we do, that we have to do better, then you ought to stand up right now and take out your phones… take a picture all of these courageous teens standing here asking for the violence to stop then post with the hashtag, #StopTheViolence.”

After using her to promote the show in the weeks leading up to Sunday’s broadcast, the TCA’s failed to mention or honor Christina Grimmie, despite her posthumous win for Choice Web Star: Music. Grimmie was just 22 years old when she was killed by a deranged fan while signing autographs following a concert in Orlando, FL, one night before the shooting at the Orlando nightclub The Pulse.
