Donald J. Trump made an unexpected stop on the campaign trail Thursday at the Fraternal Order of Police gun range in Troutman, NC.

Iredell Sheriff Darren Campbell accompanied Trump on an impromptu shoot in the FOP Shooting Facility, reporting the Republican presidential nominee was ‘a good shooter’ and kept some of their targets as a memento.

“It’s obviously a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Campbell said of his time on the range with Trump.

Campbell also said he used his one-on-one time with Trump to discuss issues facing law enforcement nationwide and in North Carolina as well.

Trump then headed into the FOP building accompanied by former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani to address a small group of FOP members, associate and family members where he thanked them for their support, assuring them, “I’m on your side, 1,000 percent.”

After bragging about his popularity among America’s law enforcement, Trump said November’s vote ‘could be unanimous’ among LEO’s before speculating, “That could be, no matter where you go in the country, we may get no negative vote.”

Ron “Duck” Wyatt, a retired law enforcement officer and member of the FOP, announced to the attendees and Trump that he has earned the organization’s endorsement – both locally and statewide.
