Pro-Gun Group in Ohio Planning to Buy New Gun for Zimmerman?

We took an in-depth look at the government’s war on George Zimmerman yesterday, but there’s a chance things are looking up for the harassed, law-abiding citizen.

A pro-gun group from Ohio is taking credit for the initiative to buy George Zimmerman a new gun.  After hearing the news that the Department of Justice would be confiscating Zimmerman’s firearm, the group kick-started a week long fundraising effort.

Apparently the event has been so successful that the Buckeye Firearms Foundation stated on their website: “We have collected more than we expected for [the Zimmerman Second Amendment Fund] and have ceased taking donations.  We will issue a complete report as soon as possible.”

Despite Attorney General Eric Holder’s reassurance that the Justice Department will “act in a manner that is consistent with the facts and the law”, his actions are worthy of a lawsuit—as Zimmerman continues to suffer abuse at the hands of the government.

The Buckeye Firearms Foundation said in an online post, “This is about more than mere principle. Zimmerman and his family now face daily threats on their lives. More than ever, he has a right to defend himself against those who would seek to do him harm.”

They added, “Gun owners must stand together and refuse to allow an injustice like this to go unanswered. If we choose to sit idly by while the full force and weight of the federal government descends upon a free man, it will embolden others to take liberties with our rights.”

A great message for all of us gun owners who refuse to be bullied into giving up our 2nd Amendment freedoms.
