BREAKING: Active Shooter At South Florida High School, UPDATE: Suspect In Custody

UPDATE: Multiple outlets are reporting that the shooter is still at large. Police are telling teachers and students to remain barricaded inside their classrooms.


President Trump has been made aware of the situation.

UPDATE II: Police have reportedly identified a person of interest. Authorities are telling everyone to “be on the lookout” for a white male wearing a burgundy shirt.

UPDATE III: While some students have been evacuated, many more are still trapped inside the building.


UPDATE IV: President Trump expressed his condolences on Twitter. He has also spoken with Florida Governor Rick Scott.

UPDATE V: Police reportedly have a person of interest in custody.

UPDATE VI: Police have a suspect in custody, and the active shooter situation is over. Remaining students, faculty and staff are now being evacuated from the building.


UPDATE VII: “Multiple” deaths are being reported.

UPDATE VIII: Broward Sheriff officials say there “at least 14 victims.” The number of fatalities is still unknown.

UPDATE IX: According to Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel, the suspect is approximately 18 years-old and is a former student.


Another shooting has been reported at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Authorities are on the scene, and the shooting is still considered active. More than 20 people have been injured. How many are wounded due to being shot are unknown.
