JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Fewer people are applying for concealed weapon permits in Duval County, according to reports from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

More than 9,000 people applied for concealed weapon permits between 2012 and June 2013 in Duval County. That was during the momentum to change gun laws in Washington, but as the hype has died down, so has the number of permit applications coming into the Division of Licensing.
Gun purchases at Green Acres Sporting Goods in Jacksonville are steady, but nothing compared to the record sales from 2013.
