ATW: Edmonds mom shoots home intruder

The KING5 news reports:

EDMONDS, Wash. — Edmonds Police is on scene of an attempted home invasion that left the intruder shot and in the hospital.

A 33-year-old mother of three woke up to a man pounding on her front door and trying to break in around 3:00 a.m. Thursday. The suspect, a 22-year-old man, was able to force the door open, causing the woman to struggle with him to get the door closed. The mother had called 911 and armed herself prior to the suspect forcing his way into the home.

When she realized she would not win the struggle, she fired one shot and hit the intruder in the abdomen.
