ATW: Ohio Senate approves loosening rules for concealed-weapons permits, hunting silencers

The Cleveland news reports:

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Senate passed legislation Tuesday that would make major changes to the state’s rules for issuing concealed-weapons permits, including reducing training requirements and expanding recognition of out-of-state licenses.

House Bill 234, which cleared the Senate 24-6, would also allow the use of noise suppressors on firearms while hunting birds and many other animals in Ohio.

The legislation now heads back to the Ohio House for a final vote.
