Dallas Man Arrested At White House After Threatening To Kill All White Officers

As if the state of Texas didn’t have enough going on in this news cycle, it seems a Dallas man felt like he needed to try and up the stupid. That’s the only explanation for him traveling from the Lone Star State to Washington, D.C. where he reportedly planned to kill all white police officers there.

A Dallas man was arrested Monday at the White House after he reportedly traveled to Washington intending to kill “all white police” at the executive mansion.

The Secret Service said in a statement that an alert had been issued by the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland to be on the lookout for Michael Arega.

Officers spotted him on the north side of Pennsylvania Avenue near Lafayette Park.

Secret Service agents were able to arrest Arega without incident.

Police officers were alerted to Arega’s plans after his ex-wife reportedly notified authorities of his intentions from her home in Texas.

The man’s ex-wife alerted police from her home in Texas, according to Montgomery County Police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks.

Starks said the man’s ex-wife was concerned about her ex-husband’s mental and emotional health and that he had stopped taking his prescribed medications. She called police when she had discovered “troubling messages” on his Facebook page.

Montgomery County Police sent officers to the hotel that the man had checked into on Facebook in Silver Spring, Maryland, but the man was gone by the time officers arrived.

Arega was not found in possession of a firearm or any other weapon when he was arrested.

However, that doesn’t mean he didn’t have a plan. More importantly, though, is that this is the ultimate result in the overwhelming media narrative of racist police officers. Ever since the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, we have seen this narrative of cops being racist constantly perpetuated by the mainstream media, usually overlooking how few there actually are.

As a result, we’ve seen a great deal of animosity focused toward officers where none should be. We’re not talking about people targetting particular officers for their hatred, officers who are known to have exhibited racist tendencies. Even then, it would be wrong to try and kill them, but at least negative emotions toward those officers would make sense.

Instead, we have hatred toward all police officers, constantly fueled by politicians, activists, and pundits who refuse to acknowledge that most police officers are good, decent folks who only want to make their communities safer.

Arega’s story is slightly more troubling than someone who just dislikes police, even white police. Arega is from the very city where several officers were gunned down by a shooter who also wanted to kill white police officers.

For now, Arega is being charged with making felony threats, but it’s odd that he hails from the same place as the Dallas police shooter from last year and expresses similar sentiments. One has to wonder if some kind of anti-white cop rhetoric is being spread down in Dallas where no one is looking, though this kind of anti-police sentiment has plenty of fuel from the media as it is.

At least this time, nothing could come of it. Thankfully.
