Rev. Al Sharpton never seems to miss an opportunity to make any issue possible about race. Other than that, he’s a dedicated leftist to the hilt. That means he’s anti-gun. Apparently, so is his half-brother, Kenneth Glasgow, since a group he founded attended the March For Our Lives this past weekend.

Which just makes the allegations against him in Dothan, AL almost as hilarious as they are sad.

The half-brother of Rev. Al Sharpton, also an activist whose group participated in Saturday’s anti-gun March For Our Lives, has been charged in a Sunday shooting death in Dothan, Ala.

Dothan police said that Rev. Kenneth Glasgow was the driver in a car linked to the murder of 23-year-old Breunia Jennings of Dothan by passenger Jamie Townes, 26.

Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish said that Glasgow and Townes allegedly searched for Jennings, who they believe had stolen Townes’ car. When they found her, Townes allegedly shot Jennings as she drove, hitting her in the head. She died later.

“Instead of him notifying law enforcement, he took matter in his own hands and jumped in Mr. Glasgow’s vehicle to find Breunia Jennings,” said Parrish, according to a report in the Dothan Eagle.

While police do not believe Glasgow, 52, was the triggerman, under Alabama’s aiding and abetting law, he is is culpable for murder.

Sharpton and Glasgow have been activists on projects together. Glasgow is an ex-convict who started an Alabama ministry called The Ordinary People Society. He has recently been campaigning to restore voting rights for convicts.

So, what we have here is a case of a man who protested our right to own guns, but sees no problem tooling around town with someone armed and prepared to allegedly murder someone for supposedly stealing their car.

I suppose if he thinks all gun owners are potential murderers, it may be because the pool of gun owners he personally knows includes people like Jamie Townes (again, allegedly).

What gets me in all this is that this is a man who protested against gun violence and for gun control. No matter what some try to say about the march, it was pro-gun control. And Glasgow should know. He was there. He saw all the signs, and not just the handful that elicited enough of a reaction to be photographed.

So he took a pro-gun control stance yet finds himself involved in this mess?

And don’t let anyone think that Glasgow was oblivious to the idea of a gun in the car. From the Dothan Eagle:

In a press conference Monday afternoon, Parrish said it appears Jennings stole Townes’ vehicle. Townes got into Glasgow’s vehicle, and the two followed Jennings while she drove.

Townes fired several shots into the vehicle Jennings drove, he said, striking her in the head. She later died from her injuries.

Besides being probably guilty of watching too many action movies, Townes allegedly fired his gun while in the car with Glasgow, and Glasgow continued his pursuit.

In other words, it’s fine for his friends to have guns, but not the rest of us?

Of course, this is par for the course for gun control advocates. Anyone else remember Bowling For Columbine’s Michael Moore’s bodyguard being arrested on a gun charge? Remember, the problem isn’t people owning guns. Not for these folks.

No, the problem is for other people to own guns. At least with Moore, it was someone you kind of expect a hypocritical gun grabber to want armed. After all, he’s important (his thoughts, not mine) and deserves it.

With Glasgow, he apparently decided to pal around with an armed man who would shoot a woman for supposedly stealing his car–which is typically not considered self-defense. Either way, though, it seems gun grabbers aren’t as worried about guns as they like to appear. It’s just everyone else being armed that bothers them.
