Ever since the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, there have been a handful of students that have taken the airwaves by storm. We know their names by now; David Hogg, Emma Gonzalez, Cameron Kasky, Delaney Tarr.

These kids have presented themselves to the world as the voice of their generation, or at least the survivors of MSDHS.

However, an anonymous teacher claims that’s not the case. It seems these kids’ classmates would rather the public faces of Parkland sit down and keep quiet.

America knows Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students through mainly a handful of pro-gun control activist students, but according to a faculty member of the school where the deadly shooting took place, many other students say the most visible activists do not represent them.

“I’ve had some students approach me privately to talk to me about it, but I should note that those student activists none of them were ever in any danger during this whole thing…none of them except for the one girl Samantha Fuentes,” the faculty member said, on the condition of anonymity, during an interview with NRATV that aired Friday on Dana Loesch’s “Relentless” program.

The Stoneman Douglas staffer continued, “But I have students in my class that were shot, but you don’t see them. They have the most personal experience of anyone except for that one girl.”

Students privately revealed to the staffer their thoughts when they see one of their classmates on TV or hear them on radio. Many of these unknown students said they do not support what Gonzalez, Hogg, and Kasky are saying in the public sphere, according to the faculty member.

“There have been a lot of my students that have spoken to me about it privately, and they’ve told me word for word as well as paraphrasing that these kids don’t speak for all students.”

Now, if this is accurate and not someone trying to discredit NRATV and Dana Loesch — something I’m not about to rule out, unfortunately, but shouldn’t be taken as a slight against either the NRA or Loesch — it’s an important thing to remember.

While Hogg and company pretend they speak for America’s youth, we can remember that they’re not even speaking for all of their classmates. We know that thanks to the existence of Kyle Kashuv, but Kyle is just one voice. One against several. It’s easy to dismiss him as the lone voice of the Second Amendment in an anti-gun chorus at MSDHS.

What this information tells us, however, is that Kyle isn’t alone. He’s speaking for a different line of thinking. While it’s possible that many of these kids don’t think Kyle speaks for them either, it’s at least comforting to know that there’s reason to believe Hogg, Gonzalez, Kasky, Tarr, and the rest of the more vocal crowd don’t represent nearly as many people as they think.

Instead, they’re just a bunch of anti-gun activists with an inflated sense of self-importance and a poor grasp of the facts surrounding guns, gun-related fatalities, and anything else to do with the Second Amendment.

They sound just like Shannon Watts, now that I think about it.
