NY Post Op-Ed Tries To Take NRATV Personality To Task, Fails

The mainstream media pays an awful lot of attention to what NRATV personalities say. They stand ready to pounce on anything they can remotely think of that will help them discredit those personalities and the NRA as a whole. Look at how they reacted to Dana Loesch talking about “The Clenched Fist of Truth,” for example.

When NRATV’s Greg Stinchfield took issue with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez winning the Democratic nomination for the House, the New York Post was ready to call him to task.

In the two-minute clip, NRA TV host Grant Stinchfield belittled the Boston University grad as a “28-year-old bartender” and described her as part of a secret left-wing plot to undermine the country.

“Left-wing socialists have infiltrated the nation that we love,” said Stinchfield, about Ocasio-Cortez, who was born in the Bronx, which is part of America.

Saying they’ve infiltrated doesn’t mean he’s saying there’s some secret, tin-foil-hat-like plot from a smoke-filled dark room. It simply means there have been a lot more socialists and they’re being more accepted within the Democratic party. Infiltration doesn’t necessarily mean that every socialist came from outside the nation, either. No one is arguing that Ocasio-Cortez was born in the United States. We’re just saying that she espouses the very ideas that have helped turn Venezuela, a country with every advantage humanly possible, into an absolute hell hole.

However, I don’t want to get into party politics. Frankly, I don’t have to, because what follows is just brain-dead stupidity.

While Ocasio-Cortez’s stunning victory was evidence for good government groups across the city that New York’s infamous party machinery can be beat, Stinchfield had another take: that Crowley’s defeat showed the state had slid off the “deep end” and that she would grab guns if she ever had the chance.

He provided no backing for his claim, nor his argument that democracy is undermined by gun control laws, because “no socialist country allows its oppressed people to empower themselves.”

California, New York and many European nations — like France, England and Germany — are all democracies that hold free and fair elections with tough gun laws on the books.

First, Stinchfield never said anything about democracy being undermined. In fact, he never used the word “democracy” at all. Probably because he understands we’re a republic, not a democracy. However, let’s look at these examples for a moment.

California and New York still allow citizens to own firearms. They may not like it, and they don’t make it easy, but they still can own them and even carry them in some circumstances.

But let’s take a look at these free European countries for a moment.

England, for example, where they’ve now banned pocket knives. The same country where a man was arrested and sentenced for a stupid joke. The very same country where a baby died because his parents weren’t allowed to take him to get medical treatment elsewhere. This is your free country?

France has a law in the books targeting supposed hate speech. It restricts any form of expression supposedly mean to “provoke discrimination, hate, or violence towards a person or a group of people because of their origin or because they belong or do not belong to a certain ethnic group, nation, race, or religion.” I’ve heard plenty of rhetoric from feminists and minorities that would fall under that code, truth be told, so tell me again how this is a free and democratic society?

Having supposedly “free and fair” elections doesn’t mean you have a free people, and that matters so much more. I’d rather live free under a monarchy than be oppressed by a million tyrants calling itself “democracy.”

I suspect that’s why Stinchfield never uttered the word “democracy” either.
