Iowa Professor Becomes Poster Child For Antifa Violence

While I’d be stupid to pretend Antifa is the only potential threat out there, they most certainly are a threat. This is a group of people who believe that violence to create political change isn’t just acceptable, but noble. They claim they only want to fight fascism, and they even mean that.

However, in a report about a pro-Antifa Iowa professor, we can see that the term “fascism” has a far different meaning for them than it does for you or me.

college professor in Iowa openly declared his support for the violent far-left Antifa movement after coming under fire for inflammatory social media posts that included the desire to bash President Trump with a baseball bat.

Jeff Klinzman, an adjunct English professor of nearly 10 years at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, made the remark after a local TV station questioned him over his social media activity.

“I affirm that I am Antifa,” Klinzman told local ABC affiliate KCRG-TV, which found the professor’s numerous posts both on his personal page and on an “Iowa Antifa” page. He stood behind his comments — though added he’s willing to apologize to any Christians offended by them.

The professor was also an active participant in a local Antifa group on Facebook, according to KCRG, where he made the apparent comment about attacking Trump.

“Yeah, I know who I’d clock with a bat…” he said in response to a tweet by Trump where the president slammed Antifa, tweeting “Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting… people over the heads with baseball bats,” with Klinzman saying “Yeah, I know who I’d clock with a bat…”

In other words, violence is fine as long as you’re on the other side of people like Klinzman.

Now, if he’s willing to assault the President of the United States with a bat, you can rest assured he’d think nothing of doing so to less protected Trump supporters. It’s only a matter of time before this kind of thing escalates from street clashes between two different political ideologies into targetted attacks on people groups that Antifa despises.

In fact, we’ve already seen it. The attack on Tucker Carlson’s house could easily have turned deadly had his front door been a bit less sturdy. The mob outside of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s home was definitely hoping someone would kill him.

What concerns me is when it starts trickling down from very high-profile people like McConnell and Carlson and starts impacting ordinary Americans who espouse their political beliefs. Then it will get ugly.

It’s past time for Antifa to be labeled a terrorist organization and be treated accordingly. It’s time that law-abiding citizens not affiliated with such an organization exercise their right to keep and bear arms, to go about their business armed in any place they can lawfully do so, and to make it a point to be trained in how to defend themselves from violence.

I don’t want bloodshed, but as per usual, that’s the bad guys’ decision and not ours. Whether that bad guy is a thug who is after our wallets or a violent mob which wants to beat you to death because you voted for the wrong party in the last election is irrelevant.

Keep your powder dry, folks. It’s going to get ugly.
