Man Goes To Rob Store, Leaves To Find Poetic Justice Was Served First

The idea of “karma” is the Hindu believe that whatever you do will come back upon you, often in a later life. While reincarnation isn’t universal, the overall concept of people getting what they deserve tends to be. “What goes around, comes around” and “you reap what you so” are just two examples of the same idea in a more Western phrasing, the latter being based on a Bible verse.

Unfortunately, many of us see people who seem to skirt these ideas. They’re jackasses early in life and never quite seem to get the justice they so richly deserve.

This guy is not one of those fortunate souls.

The vehicle’s owner told officers someone had stolen his red 1992 Chevrolet pickup. The owner had left his keys behind on the seat, and a thief drove off with the truck.

But after surveillance video was reviewed, police discovered that the reason the pickup owner had left his truck was because he was off stealing items from a business across the street.

The man is currently in jail while the person who stole his pickup truck isn’t.

Now, let’s be honest. There’s a certain part of most of us who just loves hearing about stupid criminals. It’s reassuring to know that the crooks we’re most likely to deal with aren’t exactly geniuses. We love knowing that the bad guys are bad guys because many of them are just too stupid to fill out a job application in anything other than crayon.

It gives us warm fuzzies.

Yet, something about this story really touches another part of me and makes me feel even better. While it may just be the irony of a criminal being the victim while he’s committing a crime, but I think it’s something else.

You see, I think we’re all placed on this Earth for a specific reason. We don’t know what it is, primarily because the Almighty rarely consults us directly about such matters, but there’s a purpose. For me, maybe it’s to write about and try to defend the Second Amendment. Maybe it’s just to raise my kids as best I can. Who knows?

But I do think some people are put here just to serve as object lessons for the rest of us.

I mean people like this guy.

Here he is, minding his own business by stealing stuff, and his getaway vehicle is stolen while he’s doing it. It’s just not right, now is it?

What would be hilarious is for him and the car thief to run into one another in jail. I’d pay money to watch the moment they meet. Would it be a meeting of professionals? Nah, that’s not very likely. They’re not professionals, after all, just crooks. Would it be violent? Possibly.

Either way, though, this gets one crook off the streets and the police looking for another.

While some people don’t believe in the concept of karma, I do believe we reap what we sow, and this thief got to do a little reaping.
