NSSF Warns of Biden's Doublespeak on Freedom

President Joe Biden has finally gotten around to kicking off his 2024 campaign and a central theme he plans to speak on is protecting freedom.

Yes, really.

No, I’m serious. Please stop laughing.

The Anti-Gunner-in-Chief honestly expects people to believe that despite his insistence on passing gun control regulations in the past, he’s suddenly going to be pro-freedom now.

Especially since, as NSSF’s Larry Keane notes, he’s not giving up on gun control this time around, either.

President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign is starting to stir from its slumber and, in a repeat of the 2020 election, they’ve got their sights set on eliminating Second Amendment rights.

Quentin Fulks, the Biden 2024 Principal Deputy Campaign Manager, appeared on NBC News’ Meet The Press to lay out the Biden-Harris campaign’s top priorities and what they’ll tell voters they can expect if the president is given another four years in The White House by American voters. It comes as no shock that attacking Second Amendment rights is among President Biden’s “to-do” list for 2024.

“The president has already done a lot to prevent gun violence. He passed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act,” Fulks said. “He’s established an office of Gun Violence Prevention, but we have to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”

There you have it. In 2020, the president kicked off his bid for The White House by calling firearm manufacturers the enemy.” This time around, he’s doubling down his antigun rhetoric. Make no mistake, President Biden is coming for your guns. He’s coming for your freedoms and he’s willing to trample on the U.S. Constitution to do it.

More than that, he’s willing to trample on the Bruen decision to do so.

Remember that Bruen laid down a test for the constitutionality of gun control laws, what we now call the text, history, and tradition rule. One has to look at particular points in history to see if similar gun control laws existed at those times.

One’s going to be hard-pressed to find an analog for an assault weapon or magazine ban. The Biden administration knows this, too. They’re just hoping that either you won’t know this or that they can somehow push it through anyway.

Keane also notes that no one should consider this campaign hyperbole, either, because Biden’s track record actually backs up his gun control agenda. He wants to ban so-called assault weapons and he wants to restrict how many rounds we can load into a weapon at any one time.

Because reloading isn’t a thing in Biden-land.

Then again, for all the campaign rhetoric surrounding “freedom,” Biden is clearly not in favor of it.

What we have is the typical cries of freedom for the things they approve of but absolutely no consideration for things they disprove of. Things like our right to keep and bear arms.

If the president gets a second term, especially with sufficient control of Congress, we are going to see the Second Amendment effectively shattered, the weapons most needed to help protect our rights stripped from us and the ground set for whatever future tyranny some politician thinks they can get away with.

Without the best means to resist we have–currently, so-called assault weapons with 30-round magazines or larger–we’re no longer in a position to fight back.

Which, frankly, is probably why anti-gunners like Biden hate these weapons so much. It means we have no choice but to bow down to the government regardless of what they might try to push. We’ve seen freedoms eroded in other countries after their guns were taken and it will happen here.

So Biden claiming to be defending “freedom” is downright laughable since he’s laying the groundwork for destroying it.
