Kansas City Mayor Blames Lack of Local Gun Laws For Murder Spike

Homicides in Kansas City, Missouri are up nearly 20% this year, and Mayor Quentin Lewis says the state's firearm preemption law is partly to blame by blocking local gun control ordinances. But as Cam notes, there are plenty of cities around the country that are seeing big declines in murders, even in states with firearm preemption and permitless carry laws in place.
