We simply can’t count all the times that Moms Demand Action leaders and their allies at Everytown for Gun Safety have been caught blatantly lying, but the incident captured on film (below) of Kelly Burke, President of the Texas chapter of Moms Demand Action, may be the most blatant ever… and might be a crime.
As YouTuber “Naturalized Texan” notes:
During testimony in front of the Texas Senate State Affairs Committee on Feb 12, 2015, Kelly Burke — president of the Texas chapter of anti-civil rights group Moms Demand — claimed that Texas CHL crime stats are “completely locked down” and not available to the public. That is a bold-faced lie, as the stats are available from the Texas DPS website: https://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/chl…
She then proceeded to label claims that CHL holders are responsible and law-abiding as “anecdotal and conjecture”. That is another lie, as the publicly available DPS stats show that Texas CHL holders are even less likely to commit crimes than Texas peace officers (let alone the general population).

There is little doubt at all that Burke was lying. The only question is whether or not Burke was under oath when she testified in front of the State Affairs committee, which could potentially put her on the hook for a charge of perjury.
The office for the committee is now closed for the weekend, but we’ll be on the phone with them first thing Monday to find out whether Kelly Burke told “just another” Moms Demand lie, or whether she broke the law with her fabrication.
You can read more about this breaking scandal at National Review Online.
Note: I suspect that the gentleman in the gray shirt at the middle of the table is one of ours. He appears to be on the verge of laughing at Burke’s obvious lies.
