Lucky Fayetteville Burglar Gets Away With Bullets Instead Of A Toe Tag

Fayetteville, (NC) is arguably the dumbest place in the United States to attempt a home invasion or burglary. Fayetteville is on the edge of Fort Bragg, and the area is teeming with paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne, Green Berets, Delta Force operators, the many elite units that sustain them, and more than a handful of retired Special Forces and Delta operators who live and run firearms training schools in the area.

Put bluntly, it’s a great place to get shot, and this morning, someone did.

A Fayetteville man shot a suspected burglar on Saturday morning as the person tried to break into his home.

Fayetteville police said Chris Hartley, 25, shot an unidentified suspect at his Bianca Place home before 4:45 a.m.. The suspect was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

This burglar was lucky, in that the home he attempted to invade was not occupied by someone with considerably more skill at arms, and who wouldn’t have left him with survivable wounds.
