A man convicted of multiple break-ins has finally been arrested after entering the back door of Sandy Mize’s home, a grandmother of ten who lives alone. Police had already been tracking the suspect, Sean Denny, for breaking windows earlier that evening. Mize heard the intruder enter and grabbed her revolver beside her bedside. She fired a warning shot and held the intruder at gunpoint until police could arrive.
The police statement said the door Denny kicked through was dead bolted and reinforced with a metal pole door jamb. “The homeowner was in reasonable fear for her life, fired her gun to protect herself, and clearly was within her legal right to do so,” the release said.
