Atlanta Woman Exercises her Right to Defend her Livelihood

Last week Friday, three men kicked in an Atlanta, Georgia suburb home around 4 a.m. The first burglar was met by a female homeowner who reached for her firearm. The woman fatally shot the initial intruder, 28-year-old Antonio Leaks, in the torso. The other two suspects returned fire before fleeing the scene.

The home invasion was caught on security cameras from inside the woman’s home. “It’s not common that we receive this caliber of surveillance video showing the crime unfold, an actual home invasion,” Cpl. Deon Washington with the Gwinnett County Police Department said.

“She exercised her right to defend her livelihood and property,” Washington said.

Gwinnett, Georgia police are relying on the surveillance video to identify and apprehend the two men who remain at large. Both men are described as African American, between 20 and 30 and around six feet tall.

Thankfully, this homeowner had her firearm and used it to defend herself against these three thugs! She was quick and brave. She jumped into action in the blink of an eye. Although we never want to have to use our firearms to defend ourselves, each and every gun owner in America needs to be prepared for something like this.

At the end of the day it’s better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.
