VIDEO: Pink Pistols Explain Why Gun Ownership is Important to the LGBTQ Community

Ever since the PULSE nightclub shooting, members of the LGBTQ community have looked into new ways of protecting themselves, including with a firearm.

That’s where the Pink Pistols come into play. The group is made up of LGBTQ gun owners who want to utilize their Second Amendment right in order to protect themselves. At the group’s core is one powerful mission: “…that all people have the right to defend themselves from harm, and that everyone has the individual right to keep and bear arms as protected by the Second Amendment.”

A handful of Pink Pistols sat down with Comedy Central’s Moshe Kasher to explain why they feel the need to own a firearm.

“What do liberals not understand about gun ownership?” host Moshe Kasher asks the group.

The Pink Pistols’ response is utter perfection!

“If someone is living in an area that is safe, that they perceive to be relatively crime-free, that’s a very elitist attitude to define how someone chooses to defend themselves,” one unidentified group member replied.

“To be a gun owner is not supporting violence. It is an identity,” Chris Cheng chimes in.

“So the Second Amendment and gun control is really an issue of identity politics?” Kasher asks.

Interestingly enough, Cheng says he feels more accepted as a gay man in the gun community than a gun owner in the gay community.
