Two men entered, and one of the two left with an extra orifice:
Two people have been arrested in a home invasion on Des Moines’ northwest side early Thursday in which a homeowner reportedly shot an intruder.
Police have charged Jesus Diaz and a juvenile friend with second-degree burglary.
Police were called around 4:03 a.m. about an attempted burglary in the 3100 block of Jefferson Avenue. The suspects allegedly forced open a door. One of the residents fired a handgun, hitting one suspect in the arm, police said.
The knuckleheads then tried to call in some sort of attempted carjacking to cover up the reason one of them was sporting a fresh bullet-hole, but apparently found it difficult to fabricate a convincing story while bleeding.
The homeowner was uninjured.
