hickok45: 1860 Henry Rifle

hickok45 shoots a beautiful Uberti 1860 Henry Rifle reproduction in .45 Colt. It couldn’t have been fun to shoot rapidly in the Civil War, as it didn’t have a wooden forearm for the shooter to grasp. As the barrel heated up, it transferred that heat to the magazine tube and the shooter’s support hand. The Improved Henry 1866 “Yellowboy” (which hickok45 also has on hand) fixed many of the shortcomings of the original rifle, and is the first “modern” lever-action with a forearm and a loading gate.
