Shooting The Armasight OPMOD Thermal Sight

I had a chance to meet with both Tim Harmsen (AKA “MAC”) and the guys from Aramsight at the 2015 NRA Annual Meetings yesterday. As Tim notes in the video above, night vision and thermal sights use completely different technologies. Night vision equipment is well-established on the market, to the point that entry-level night vision isn’t much more expensive than a good pair of binoculars or a rifle scope. We’re a number of years away from that with thermal systems, but if it follows current trends, it will be affordable to many shooters within the decade.

Consider this a view of your future.

I take my new Armasight OPMOD Zeus Thermal sight from OpticsPlanet to the range to sight it in on my Tavor. I plan to do a lot of shooting and hunting this year with the thermal sight. The prices on these continue to drop making them affordable to more shooters.
