Let me ask you a common-sense question: What would you expect to happen if you slipped a ski mask over your head, strapped body armor on, slung an AKM across your chest, and walked into your local police station with the rifle held at the low ready?
After the deadly ambushes of police officers in Dallas and Baton Rogue this past year and numerous other attempts on the lives of police officers and an attack on a police station in Dallas, you might expect the officers inside that station to react with alarm, fearing another attack.
You’d expect something pretty much just like this.
A surfaced video on Reddit shows two men -one sporting a ski-mask and AK-pattern semiautomatic rifle- entering the police station, armed with cameras, body armor and small arms.
The duo reported that they were heading into the station to file a complaint.
“We’re going to go in and file a complaint because we were illegally pulled over about an hour ago,” the masked man said as he hefted his cheaply-furnished AK rifle. “We felt a little afraid for our lives as we were pulled over so we figured we better protect ourselves.”
As the men entered the main lobby of the station, officers quickly took note of the situation, drawing their sidearms.
“Dude put that on the ground,” one officer says, the sound of weapons unholstering clearly audible in the background.
The two protesting men continued to advance, seemingly confused before coming to a halt.
“I will put a round in you, sir,” the lawman shouts, his hoarse tone indicative of the tension in the air.
“What the hell is the matter with you?!” another officer inquired in disbelief.
If you want to understand why people hate “open carry” activists, you need look no further than these two men, a couple of anti-police radicals who take great delight in pushing police officers to the ragged edge to of opening fire to promote their “rights.”
The men were charged with resisting, breach of peace, and failure to comply. They’re very lucky that officers kept their composure and followed their training, especially as the men did not immediately follow lawful commands. It’s only going to be a matter of time before anti-police “gun rights” radicals purposefully attempting to push the limits manage to make a wrong move that will reasonably interpreted as a threat, leading to officers to open fire on them.
Let’s be very clear: these are not gun rights activists. These are two men who hate law enforcement who use “open carry” to show their disdain for police, just as we’ve seen from several other open carry activists in Michigan and Texas. None of these men seem to really care about the right to bear arms, but instead are attempting to use the right to bear arms as a shield to torment and terrorize both their fellow citizens and law enforcement officers, which always seem to be the real targets of their ire.
These are the kind of radicals that gun control supporters love, and real gun rights supporters—including sincere open cary activists—loathe.
