A suspect has been shot by Los Angeles Police Department officers after a string of stabbings at three locations on L.A.’s notorious Skid Row.

Los Angeles police shot and wounded a man Friday after a series of stabbings in downtown L.A.’s skid row that sent three people to the hospital, officials said.

According to initial reports, witnesses saw several people stabbed in three different locations in skid row, said Deputy Chief Robert Arcos, who heads the LAPD’s Central Bureau.

Officers assigned to an LAPD team that focuses on skid row located the suspect and at some point shot him, Arcos said.

All three stabbing victims and the suspect were brought to area hospitals, but their conditions are not known at this time.
