Two would-be robbers pistol-whipped the wrong man, and wound up a few hundred grains heavier each for the trouble they caused:
Police said Tyson Foods employee Terry Campbell was acting in self-defense when he shot Jarvis Miller and Jermaine Blakeney just after 5:15 a.m. Friday.
Investigators said the men approached Campbell as he was sitting in his car in the Tyson parking lot after finishing his overnight shift.
Detectives said the suspects opened Campbell’s door and began pistol-whipping him, until Campbell was able to grab his own gun and fire at them.
“One suspect was shot multiple times, the other was shot once. Both were transported to Carolinas Medical Center Main,” said city spokesman Pete Hovanec.
The two men will face felony charges when they leave the hospital.
