One teen home invader make a huge mistake when he attempted to rob the home of brothers Kevin and Rich Dennis in New London, Connecticut.
Homeowner Kevin Dennis, 29, said his brother, Rich Dennis, 32, yelled to him that there was a man in the house with a gun.
Kevin Dennis, a Navy veteran who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, said he immediately grabbed his gun and ran downstairs to find his brother and the 15-year-old suspect in a tussle.
After pointing his gun at the suspect, Kevin Dennis told the suspect to drop the gun he was holding. The suspect complied. Then, according to Kevin Dennis, the suspect broke down in tears and asked him to call the police because he was peer pressured into breaking into the home.
It’s a good thing that the teen surrendered. Kevin Dennis was armed (as the picture shows) with a Smith & Wesson M&P series variant, while the criminal was armed with a battered single-action Ruger revolver that was most likely stolen in a previous robbery. Not only was the wimpy thug facing a combat veteran of two wars, he was clearly outnumbered and outgunned.
The teen faces a raft of felony charges and is being held in a juvenile detention facility.
Obviously, Connecticut’s incredibly restrictive post-Sandy Hook gun laws have done precisely nothing to disarm criminals, and have only served to harass the law-abiding.
