Gun control supporter Sarah Brady has died after a battle with pneumonia.
Sarah Kemp Brady, the widow of former White House Press Secretary James Brady, died Friday after battling pneumonia, her family said in a statement. She was 73.
Sarah Brady was an elementary school teacher who became a prominent gun control advocate after her husband was shot during the attempt on President Ronald Reagan’s life in 1981.
Mrs. Brady follows her husband, former White House Press Secretary James Brady, into death. Mr. Brady died in August of 2014, after decades spent battling complications from wounds he received during the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan in 1981.
Mrs. Brady is survived by her son James “Scott” Brady, Jr. and her stepdaughter Melissa “Missy” Brady Camins.
While we vehemently disagreed with Mrs. Brady’s attempts to undermine the Constitution, we send our prayers to her friends and family for their loss.
