Two of three would-be armed robbers are dead and a third is on the run in Reading, Pennsylvania, after two armed store clerks pulled concealed handguns and opened fire during a violent robbery attempt when the criminals hit the store with guns blazing:
Police are investigating a late night robbery and double shooting at the Latino’s Meat Market in Reading. According to Reading police, officers were dispatched to the market – located at 11th and Greenwich streets – shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday for the report of a shooting. When police arrived on scene, they found two males suffering from gunshot wounds. Police say one male died at the scene and the other male died a short time later at Reading Hospital.
According to witnesses and video evidence, Reading police say it looks as though three masked males entered the market. One male was armed with a pistol, which he fired inside the market, and another male could be seen pointing a stun gun at one of the employees. Police do not know if the third male was armed. At the time of the incident, police say there were two market employees in the store and at least one customer. According to Reading police, sometime during the robbery both employees pulled out their own guns and fired several shots at the masked males, striking two of the three men.
A segment of security video clearly shows one of the clerks pulling a concealed handgun from a strongside IWB holster and dropping one of the two criminals with what appears to be an immediately incapacitating central nervous system hit.
One of the two employees suffered a minor cut on the bridge of his nose during the attack.
Authorities have already cleared the store’s employees in what they say was a clearcut case of self-defense, and have stated that when the third suspect is captured, he will be charged with felony murder for the deaths of his fellow criminals.
