Oh, look: Florida Man has sister.

A Florida woman was arrested Monday after she opened fire on her house guests, whom she believed had overstayed their welcome, deputies said.

Alana Savell, 32, was booked into a panhandle jail on a charge of aggravated battery with a firearm.

Savell told deputies that the woman and her friend had come over to hang out, began drinking and were “getting too loud.” Savell said she didn’t want them in her house anymore, so she started shooting at their feet.

That sounds sane and reasonable… says no one ever.

Investigators said Savell’s boyfriend told them he has instructed her that “once someone is told to leave their property three times, she is to go get the gun and shoot it at the ground. If that does not work, she is to shoot people in the leg.”

Oh, but it gets better. The idiotic boyfriend who gave her this patently illegal advice was the immediate recipient of karmic justice, as he managed to catch one of Savell’s bullets.

The woman was taken to a Panama City-area hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.

Police said Savell’s boyfriend was also shot in the leg.

It’s fortunate that she didn’t shoot him in the buttocks, as the brain damage would have been fatal.

I shouldn’t have to say this, but I’m going to do so anyway: firearms are not toys. Firearms are not warnings, or alarms, or celebratory items. They are deadly force weapons, and are to be used responsibly, or not at all. If you cannot wrap your mind around the fact that it is patently illegal to point a gun at another human being just because you find them annoying, then you are too stupid to own a gun. Period.
