Father Kills Home Invader While Defending His Son in CA

A California man was shot multiple times during a home invasion by two armed men in Lemon Grove this morning. The man’s father managed to get his hands on a gun, and ended the fight by killing one of the attackers and sending the other fleeing for his life.

A shooting broke out inside a Lemon Grove home early Tuesday morning, leaving one man dead at the scene and prompting the search for another person.

Sheriff’s officials responded to reports of gunfire at a home on Edding Drive near Mount Vernon Street at around 2 a.m.

Officials said two armed men entered the home, and following some type of confrontation, shots were fired. Officials told reporters that one of the gunmen was believed to have been killed by the homeowner.

According to officials, the homeowner’s 22-year-old son was also shot multiple times by one of the gunmen during the confrontation. He is expected to recover from his injuries.

The other gunman is still on the run and will face numerous felony charges if apprehended.
