Home Invader Comes Up Craps In Vegas Shootout

An armed home invader in Las Vegas was found DRT (dead right there) after targeting the wrong home and finding out that the home owner knew how to put effective rounds on target.

A resident shot and killed a gunman who forced his way into an apartment early today, according to Metro Police.

The incident, which police described as a home invasion, was reported shortly before 1 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 3600 block of East Sahara Avenue, just west of U.S. 95.

The resident was in his apartment when an unidentified man armed with a handgun forced the front door open, police said. The resident retrieved his own gun and shot the man, police said.

Though the incident seems to be a clearcut case of self-defense, police will conduct a through investigation and send the results to the Clark County District Attorney’s Office for what should be a pro forma review and a determination of justifiable homicide in self defense.
