Liquor Store Manager Shoots Armed Robber in Texas

A liquor store manager in Beaumont, TX was forced to draw his own weapon Thursday night when an armed robber tried to carry out a hold up.

The incident took place at the Gulf Street Liquor store at 3020 Gulf at about 6:15 p.m. last night, the manager and armed robber were the only two in the store at the time of the shooting.

The manager told KFDM the suspect was acting suspiciously and waited until everyone left before telling the manager to “give me all your money.” The manager told KFDM reporter Peter Eliopoulos he felt threatened and shot the man. The manager told Peter, “I did what I had to do. He’s not leaving the store with any money.”

Police confirmed the suspect was shot in the lower portion of his body. The suspect was transported to to CHRISTUS Hospital St. Elizabeth for treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
