It seems the gun grabbers are becoming more and more intolerant of not only our Second Amendment rights, but personally toward gun owners. Not criminal gun offenders, mind you, but legal gun owners in America.
In a very disturbing rant on Twitter, Luke O’Neil, a writer for Slate, Mediaite, and The Boston Globe, went on a particularly hateful, bitter diatribe against gun owners in response to the Lafayette theater shooting. Despite the fact that the heinous crime was committed with an illegally obtained gun, O’Neil goes as far as to accuse all gun owners of murder.
The worst of the tweets, as you can see, was the disturbing admission that Mr. O’Neil hopes all gun owners in America “get shot and die”. Also included was the often used analogy of comparing guns to male anatomy:
He even tried his hand at some comedy in an effort to lighten up the situation with a “joke” of sorts:
Apparently no one found is sick brand of comedy funny, and after being called out, O’Neil tried a different, softer approach to handling gun owners online.
It seems Mr. O’Neil sure can dish it out, but he can’t take it. After being flooded with responses to his hateful comments, Mr. O’Neil deleted select tweets. Thankfully for us, screenshots are forever.
What I find most disturbing is that although Mr. O’Neil wishes death on gun owners, he is all too quick to point out that he is a parent. Well, I’m a gun owner and I’m a parent. Why should one group be granted compassion and mercy but not another? I’m pro-life, but I would never wish death to anyone who is pro-choice. With the stark realization that those who rally against my Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms would find it funny if myself and all gun owners were shot dead, is there any way there can ever be a discussion between the two groups?
Judging by Mr. O’Neil, who has been all too happy to be the face of gun grabbers today, I would say not:
Just one more comment for Mr. O’Neil from yours truly:
