This 76-year-old Dad Wasn't About to Watch his Daughter's Ex- Hurt her

When his daughter and her little girl moved back home after being threatened repeatedly by her ex-boyfriend, it’s safe to assume this 76-year-old Albuquerque, NM dad probably never expected to have to defend her or her daughter’s life.

Thankfully, he was ready, willing and able to do just that.

Police say a call came in Thursday morning reporting a shooting at the man’s residence in northeast Albuquerque and when authorities arrived, they found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his legs.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department’s investigation of the incident, it was 40-year-old Lee Brandenburg’s history of making threats to his ex-girlfriend that prompted her to move in with her dad.

Early Thursday morning, an armed Brandenburg was actively trying to break into the homeowner’s residence to get to his  ex-girlfriend. After Brandenburg broke through the residence’s front window in the living room, the father shot the home intruder several times.

In a statement made Friday, Police Spokesman Tanner Tixier said, “Fearing for the safety of himself, his daughter and his granddaughter, the 76-year-old man shot Brandenburg numerous times.”

Police say medics transported Brandenburg to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition. Upon his release, he will be promptly arrested and charged with aggravated battery.

The homeowner will not be charged in the incident.

I know every dad is his daughter’s hero, but this is one dad that really proved it to his little girl! Well done, dad.
