Elderly Woman Finds New Way to Use Her Gun on Would-be-Burglar

Hey, if you can’t shoot ’em, at least make sure you stop ’em!

A Middletown, OH woman successfully defended herself and her home from a would-be robber by using the ‘wrong end of her gun’ early Monday morning.

Louise Jones said she was in bed around 12:30 a.m. when she heard a noise coming from her kitchen. Jones went downstairs to see what was causing the sound and was shocked to see a man’s arm reaching through her window.

Jones, who is in her 70s, grabbed her gun and called 9-1-1 to report a home invasion in progress. Before law enforcement could reach her home, she had to spring into action to prevent the home intruder from entering her kitchen window.

“I started scratching, digging at his skin, pushing him just knocking the crap out of him with my fists, and he couldn’t get in or out of the window,” Jones said.

Police said Jones was successful and the suspect eventually ran from the home, leaving his hat at the scene which police collected as evidence.

“I don’t ever want to kill a person but if I have to, I will,” Jones said. “And I don’t believe that any woman or young girl that’s being attacked should run. Because she’s going to be killed anyways, I believe she should fight back.”

Authorities said although dogs were able to obtain a scent and track a man down to Tytus Avenue, no arrests have been made.
