A Dairy Queen employee in Mayfield Heights, OH served up a blizzard of bullets to a would-be armed robber who had one dilly of a Sunday night!
The attempted robbery happened about 10:20 p.m. at the Dairy Queen on Mayfield Road, across the street from The Greens of Lyndhurst shopping plaza, police said in a news release.
A man walked into the ice cream shop and pointed a gun at employees, police said. One employee, who has a concealed carry permit, fired a shot that hit the man, police said.
The man ran from the shop. Officers found him hours later near Interstate 271 and took him to an area hospital for treatment, police said.
Mayfield Heights Police said the shooting is still under investigation. No charges have been filed against the daring Dairy Queen employee or the injured ice cream bandit at this time.
