The matter of children and firearms can be a large point of contention through different circles in our country. None of that changes the fact that appropriately teaching children about what to do if they find a firearm, and then the subsequent use and teaching of safely handling a firearm is a potentially life-saving act. The Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation, who celebrated their fifth anniversary this year and made a historic trip to spread their message to the Aloha State, has made an exciting announcement. Aero Precision, a long-time supporter of the foundation has decided to double down on their investment in the future of our children by donating nearly two and a half times more funds than they have in the past. From a press release:

The Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation is pleased to announce a continued partnership with Aero Precision for 2022. Aero Precision has donated $24,000.00 to the Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation to help us continue our important work to help protect children from a firearms accident through proper education. This investment in the Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation will help give our organization the financial stability and will help increase our outreach opportunities across the country. This donation shows great responsibility from a Firearm manufacturer by supporting a kids firearm safety organization.

It’s great when we see the firearm industry directly give back and make such investments. The work that Kids S.A.F.E does truly is important. There’s no way to quantify how many firearm related incidents the important message and education that the foundation has delivered has stopped. Having educated over 23,000 children across an increasing number of states, Kids S.A.F.E. should be proud of their accomplishments.

Since the founding of the Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation, back in 2016, we have reached over 23,000 kids in 5 states and taught them lifesaving skills. The goal is to empower our youth to make good, safe, decisions if they were to come across an unsecured firearm. According to the CDC’s statistics we lose on average 8-9 per day to unsecured firearm accident inside of the home. KSF is actively trying to stop this. Support from the Firearm industry is critical to our success. We are thankful for the support.

Derek LeBlanc, the founder and President of Kids S.A.F.E., and I had an opportunity to chat about this milestone in his organization. It’s exciting to see the group continue to grow and following that growth has been rewarding for me. Seeing the great work that’s been going on, I’m always anticipating what LeBlanc’s got for me when we do play catch up. LeBlanc is hopeful that the foundation’s message will continue to spread to as many kids as possible and noted to me:

We are thankful for the continued support of Aero Precision. Their investment in our program will continue to pay dividends with our children well into the future. The republic depends on us teaching our kids facts over fear.

It’s those facts over fear which continues to win the hearts and minds of people all over America. It’s hard to put an argument against real common-sense proposals.

The Kids S.A.F.E. Foundation is a 501©3 nonprofit organization, based in Oregon. Their mission is to educate children and families of the potential hazards of an unsecured firearm. It’s
important to note that they believe education will take the country further than any new type of restriction or legislation. We have an estimated 450 million firearms in the United States, there is no way to ban or confiscate them, so we should invest in proper education. Aero Precision are heroes to the next generation.
