An Alabama man didn’t appreciate the fact that his ex-girlfriend had moved on to a new guy, so he decided to let her know about it. Why, I have no idea. Has any woman in history had an ex- show up to complain about the new boyfriend and have the woman say, “Holy crap, you’re right! I must run away with you right this second!” at any point in history?
I didn’t think so.
This time wasn’t any different in that regard. Then again, pulling out a gun and firing was probably not a good way to win her back either. Of course, that doesn’t really matter anymore.
According to reports from the Decatur Daily, Carter showed up at the home around 4 a.m. to confront the woman about her new boyfriend. Athens Chief of Police Floyd Johnson did not say who lived at the home, but confirmed that it did not belong to either the female or Carter.
After Carter arrived, Johnson said an argument then ensued and turned to violent proportions when Carter opened fire on his ex and her new beau, who were on the porch at the time. The new boyfriend went inside the house, grabbed a pistol, and returned fire, striking Carter multiple times.
When police arrived on the scene, they found Carter lying on the street in front of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, while her new boyfriend had been shot in the arm. Both were transported via ambulance to a local hospital, where they received medical treatment and were later released.
Johnson told reporters he does not expect charges to be filed against the woman’s current boyfriend, as it appears he acted in self-defense.
The new boyfriend is fortunate that he was able to retrieve his firearm and be able to defend himself without Carter taking advantage of the time to kill the ex-girlfriend.
Yet again, a good guy with a gun saved the day.
However, this ties in a bit with the left’s latest bugaboo regarding guns, namely domestic violence. There seems to be a concerted push to use men like Carter as evidence that something needs to be done.
Yet it looks like something was done. Carter will never hurt another living soul. Ever.
If these people were serious about stopping domestic violence, they wouldn’t be trying to disarm people at all. Instead, they’d arm them.
Women, as a general rule, tend to be physically weaker than men. Yet they’re plenty strong enough to pull the trigger if their lives are threatened. They can be put down like Carter was, or countless other miscreant males who thought a woman was easy prey.
The thing is, without a firearm, the majority of women will always good targets for violent men, so why do these activists try to disarm everyone? The answer is simple. They don’t care about the victims. They don’t care about Carter’s ex-girlfriend. No, they only care about virtue signaling that they hate guns.
Everything else is secondary…like how guns actually save lives.
