President Joe Biden has been pushing gun control pretty much since he announced he was running for president. He’s been consistently looking at ways to curtail the rights of law-abiding Americans, supposedly in some vain attempt at reducing crime.
But does the president really care about gun control?
Well, there’s plenty of reason to believe he doesn’t.
Biden doesn’t have any actual interest in keeping guns away from those prohibited from possessing them.
First, we know this because of a 2013 meeting between NRA-ILA Director of Federal Affairs Jim Baker and then-Vice President Biden. Baker asked Biden about the lack of prosecutions for those who lie of on the federal firearm background check form (Form 4473). Biden replied, “And to your point, Mr. Baker, regarding the lack of prosecutions on lying on Form 4473s, we simply don’t have the time or manpower to prosecute everybody who lies on a form, that checks a wrong box, that answers a question inaccurately.”
Second, we know this because of the Biden administration’s indifference to the president’s son Hunter’s potential illegal purchase and possession of a firearm.
On June 6, the New York Post published an article titled, “Packin’ heat: Nude Hunter Biden cavorts with hooker, gun in latest mess for president.” According to the item, the Post was provided with an October 17, 2018 video where “[a] naked Hunter casually waves around a handgun and even points it at the camera while cavorting with a nude hooker in a swank hotel room.” Stills from the video are available on the Post’s website and exhibit a severe lack of trigger discipline. The paper was careful to note that “[i]t’s not clear what type of gun it is or whether it is a replica from the video.”
Now, the article from the Buckeye Firearms Association goes on to point out that the Post is right to point out that we don’t know definitively if it’s a real firearm or not. We simply don’t know.
And owning a gun isn’t illegal, either.
However, that same video also shows Hunter Biden’s alleged drug abuse on full display–and really, what kind of an idiot keeps documenting their use of illegal drugs like this? While owning a gun isn’t illegal, federal law does forbid people who use illicit drugs from owning guns.
People like Hunter Biden, it would seem.
And yet, there’s no criminal investigation into Hunter Biden. Still.
Nor is there any based on a well-document 2018 incident where Beau Biden’s widow, now dating Hunter, tossed a revolver into the trash. As noted in the above article, Hunter’s autobiography outlines his drug use at the time, which means he broke federal law in obtaining that revolver.
You see, it’s impossible for Joe Biden to claim that he wants to crack down on illegal guns–or guns of any kind, really–and not at least allow an investigation into Hunter’s antics.
At least, that’s how it should work in a nation of laws versus a nation of men.
Hunter Biden isn’t above the law simply because he’s the president’s son, so I don’t want to hear Joe Biden talking about all these issues with guns and our rights when he clearly won’t let his son be investigated for alleged issues with his own history with guns and drugs.
