The right to keep and bear arms isn't for one group of people. The Second Amendment protects that right for all Americans, and while we've often made that argument, a lot of people are just too thick to get it.
Either that or they just prefer to disbelieve us.
In a time when Hispanic voices are being heard most loudly, generally by Democrats trying to pit those voices against the Trump administration over illegal immigration, Gun Owners of America has opted to amplify them for something else entirely.
🚨Huge news!🚨

GOA has launched @Fuerza2A—our new Hispanic coalition for the Second Amendment.
Our mission: protect & restore the right of self-defense for every American. Because self-defense has no language—it’s a human right.

It is, indeed, a human right. It's one that every American has a God-given right to exercise, should they desire to. It's one that, I happen to feel, every American probably should exercise, though I'd never try to force it on anyone.
Black Americans have groups that amplify their voices, such as the National African American Gun Association. This is a good thing because that's a group that's kind of hard to label as racist gun owners.
On the same token, Hispanics make up more than 18 percent of the American population, making them the single largest minority group in the US. Ignoring them is a terrible idea. No, I don't know how many of those are legal and how many aren't, but if they're Americans, they have a right to keep and bear arms, and there are black and white illegal immigrants to, so let's skip that debate for now.
Especially as many live in high-crime areas in our larger urban communities. Many others live in very rural areas where they encounter some of the same issues that others in rural areas deal with, obviously.
There's a reason many would be pro-gun or at least be open to being pro-gun.
But it often seems like they're forgotten in the discussion. People try to paint gun ownership as racist, as if the issue is a white versus black thing when it's not, but both sides often overlook the nearly 20 percent of the American population that is Hispanic.
So, all things considered, this is a smart move. Especially when you think about Puerto Rico, which is largely Hispanic, and even the US Virgin Islands, which has a significant Hispanic population. They might not be states, but they're Americans.
Couple that with Texas, Arizona, California, and other states with large Hispanic populations, and you might well see some significant pro-gun efforts with outreach like this.
And honestly, we need it.
There's no such thing as too much support for our constitutionally protected rights, such as the right to keep and bear arms. Many of the states with a large Hispanic population have too little of it, though, and if we can make it so Hispanic voters value gun rights, either they'll oust the anti-gunners or the anti-gunners will be forced to switch positions in an effort to keep their jobs.
Especially if they're counting on the Hispanic vote as many do.
Editor’s Note: The radical left will stop at nothing to enact their radical gun control agenda and strip us of our Second Amendment rights.
