NRA warns on gun control lobby's latest demands to Biden

Over the last couple of weeks, we should have seen the end of the push for gun control. After all, didn’t it just fail spectacularly and in a deadly way in California as two high-profile mass shootings rocked the state?

Yet you have to hand it to the anti-gunners. They’re a persistent lot.

It seems that now they’re turning their attention to the White House once again. As Cam reported on Tuesday, 117 groups joined together to send a letter to President Joe Biden calling for even more gun control measures, and now the NRA is calling them out.

The National Rifle Association warned this week that the new wave of demands from the gun control lobby reveal that their aim is to use the recent wave of mass shooting events to remove the rights of Americans to own a firearm.

The NRA’s warning came after a coalition of 117 groups sent a letter to President Biden Monday that demanded a series of actions to limit rising levels of gun violence. There have been more than 1,500 non-suicide deaths from guns since new year, along with 52 mass shootings and six mass murders, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

Amy Hunter, the director of media relations for the NRA, said the groups pressuring Biden will continue to so until the rights of law-abiding Americans are stripped away.

“Biden is more than happy to do the bidding of gun control groups, as he has already proven. They are applying additional pressure because more is never enough,” Hunter told Fox News Digital. “Their ultimate goal is a country where citizens are stripped of their Second Amendment freedoms and the government has total control.”

Of course, I expect some “fact-checker” to swoop in and argue that no one said any such thing, that Hunter is just making this all up. We’ve seen that time and time again with regard to the gun issue and it’s why pretty much no gun rights supporter is a fan of mainstream “fact-check” sites.

The truth of the matter is that Hunter is absolutely correct. The endgame for gun control is and has always been to effectively disarm the American people.

Oh, they might go with a scheme that lets you keep very limited firearms in certain places under certain conditions like the UK, but they will always work to take more and more of your gun rights away under the guise of public safety.

This is just how they operate.

Later on the piece, Hunter said this:

“If they were interested in a safer America, they would support policies that put criminals behind bars and protect the rights of law-abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families,” she said. “This is why all Americans must stay vigilant and elect candidates who will defend freedom — not erode it.”

And yet, how often do these same groups’ membership lash out at police about legitimate arrests? How often do they carry water for the “Defund the Police” crowd?

They do it all the time.

They also support bail reform efforts that put people back out on the streets and weaken sentencing guidelines as well as a host of other pro-criminal efforts.

And really, when you think about it, gun control is a pro-criminal effort too. I guess they’re being remarkably consistent in that regard.

After all, if you and I don’t have guns, criminals can run rampant over our communities. Weaken the police’s ability to respond and it’s even easier for the bad guys.

Make no mistake. You’re not their opponent. You’re their enemy. There’s a big difference between the two and lest you become confused, they don’t want you to thrive. They want you to be at the mercy of those they favor.

Of course, if that’s not the case, they can prove me wrong. All they have to do is stop supporting pro-criminal legislation at every opportunity.

I won’t hold my breath.
