Based on recent revelations, China needs to sit down on guns

China, in the form of its state-run media, has been trying to push itself into the American debate on guns. They routinely run anti-gun op-eds and do everything they can to pose as legitimate news agencies simply sharing the word.

It’s more than a little annoying, to be honest.

After all, this is China we’re talking about here. Considering their record of human rights abuses, they really should be keeping their mouths shut.

But they’re not.

The United States is troubled by one gun attack after another — schools, hospitals, churches, shopping malls, Muslim communities and Black people are not spared from gun attacks, reported The Geopolitics on Sunday.

The government allows its citizens to legally own 390 million guns, and “that is why all such incidents are happening,” said the report.

“Gun violence has turned into a human rights crisis in the United States. More than 39,000 men, women and children are killed by guns in the United States each year as a result of easy and widespread access to firearms for individuals and families, and lax regulations,” added the report.

Maybe it’s just me, but again, China needs to sit down and shut the hell up.

Especially in light of the fact that it now appears that the COVID-19 virus was the result of a laboratory leak.

As of this writing, 6.87 million deaths are attributed to COVID.

It would take us 175 years to have as many “gun deaths” as are attributed to the virus that China was monkeying around with and let loose on the world, the virus they continue to try and claim didn’t come from them.

I’m sorry, but in light of that, it seems that so-called gun violence is a drop in the bucket to the blood on their hands.

There’s really no place in this world for a nation to try and lecture another over deaths–two-thirds of which are suicides, it should be noted–when they’re responsible for nearly two centuries’ worth of such deaths over just a few years.

Then again, China likes to claim the United States honoring our right to keep and bear arms is somehow a human rights violation while they have literal concentration camps within their border. It’s not like anyone in their country is going to call them on their hypocrisy and it’s not like the American media is tripping over itself to call them on it, either.

What bothers me the most is that there’s no reason to believe China has our best interests at heart. I mean, a nation that will engage in what sure looks like ethnic cleansing to me doesn’t even have its own citizens’ interests at heart, so why care about Americans?

That means there may well be some nefarious motivation behind this, especially since the US is the big dog on the planet and China wants to topple us. I’ve long figured we’d be in a shooting war with them at some point, and if they decided to come over here and get rowdy, they’d face armed citizens as well as the military.

But if they can convince Americans to disarm, they’d have an easier time should they opt to invade.

And if they don’t, well, so what? There’s literally no downside.

Let’s also remember that things like full-auto switches are being made and shipped here from China. Pretty much all of those factories making these things are owned at least in part by the government. That means if they actually cared, they could stop making them or, at least, stop shipping them to the US.

So yeah, this constant barrage from the Chinese media about guns is more than a little disingenuous in light of literally everything else.
