Marjorie Taylor Greene Blasts Kamala's Anti-Gun Comments

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is one of those lawmakers I can’t imagine turning toward gun control. While some people have mixed feelings about her, she’s never waivered in her support for the Second Amendment.

Vice President Kamala Harris, on the other hand, is kind of the opposite. No one in the gun community has mixed feelings about her and she’s never waivered in her opposition to our right to keep and bear arms.

Shocking, I know.

So no one is surprised that Harris recently posted on X, formerly Twitter, in favor of gun control.

No one is shocked that Greene fired back, either.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., called out Vice President Kamala Harris Monday for pushing “communist” gun control policies in Congress.

The remarks came in response to Harris posting on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that “weapons of war have no place on the streets of a civil society.”

“We need an assault weapons ban,” Harris wrote. “Congress, send it to [President Joe Biden’s] desk.”

“America needs a ban on communist politicians like you,” Greene responded. She continued by noting the importance of the Second Amendment as the U.S. continues to struggle to control immigration at the southern border.

“Shame on you for trying to destroy Americans’ right to defend ourselves while your policies have caused skyrocketing crime and our country to be invaded by criminals, gangs, and terrorists,” Greene wrote.

Harsh, but not inaccurate.

Look, I’m not going to get into the immigration debate because, well, that’s not what we do here. Yet we have to acknowledge that with the seemingly free flow of people across our southern border, it’s impossible to accept that every single one of them is coming across without any nefarious intent. It’s just not going to work out that way.

Some are criminals and some are terrorists–a number of people on the terror watch list have been picked up at the border–and while many might actually be looking for a better life, some want to do bad things. You can’t convince me the Border Patrol caught every terrorist, either. At least some got through.

It doesn’t take many to cause a problem, either.

So in light of all of this, for Harris to once again try to take even some of our guns away is idiotic. That’s especially true in light of what happened in Israel.

Maybe it’s just me, but touting gun control, especially calling for a ban on “weapons of war” right after seeing disarmed civilians gunned down by terrorists, isn’t exactly the smartest thing one can do.

Then again, we all know that the Biden administration has some kind of a schedule where they routinely put out this same basic tweet. That’s likely all this was.

Greene, however, was right to call it out.

As Harris has botched the border crisis, an untold number of bad actors have crossed the border, and to call for disarming the American people isn’t just stupid. It’s insane.

The truth of the matter, though, is that I wouldn’t give up so-called assault rifles even if no one was coming across the border. We’ve got our own home-grown bad actors; more than enough to cause us problems. I’m not giving up my tools of self-defense simply because they make people like Harris uncomfortable.

Greene’s comments toward Harris were harsh and antagonistic, but I don’t see that as a bad thing. The truth is that people like Harris routinely antagonize us and seek to disarm us. There’s zero reason to play nice with the kind of people who would leave us defenseless, especially against the hordes they themselves refused to keep out of the country.
